Michelle L. Spezia grew up in St. Louis, Missouri and attended high school at Villa Duchesne. She graduated from College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts with a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre and subsequently attended Valparaiso University School of Law in Valparaiso, Indiana. While in law school, Michelle studied abroad at University of Cambridge, United Kingdom, focusing on international and comparative law. Additionally, she was an executive board member of Valparaiso Mock Trial, where she competed nationally in trial advocacy competitions. She also maintained a regular column in the law school newspaper, The Forum, during her tenure at Valparaiso.

After law school, Michelle moved to Nashville, Tennessee and began practicing consumer bankruptcy law in early 2008. She has represented individual and corporate clients in Chapter 7, 11 and 13 bankruptcy cases. In January, 2012, she joined the Law Offices of James A. Flexer and focuses her practice on the representation of debtors in Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 consumer bankruptcy. Michelle also specializes in filing Chapter 7 bankruptcies for small businesses.
