Chapter 13 Bankruptcy & COVID-19 in Middle Tennessee

As of right now, Chapter 13 cases are being administered as normal in Middle Tennessee. The Chapter 13 Trustee’s office and the Bankruptcy Court are still operating. There will not be an interruption in payments to your creditors. The Trustee’s office is working with minimal staff due to social distancing recommendations and has closed their office to outside traffic.

Please mail chapter 13 bankruptcy payments to the Trustee’s office (P O Box 340019 Nashville, TN 37203) as you will not be allowed into their building to access the Trustee’s dropbox.

If you are scheduled for any court dates our office will call and walk you through the process closer to the day of your meeting or court date as we continue to obtain guidance from the Bankruptcy Court.

My job has shut down. What can I do?

If you have been laid off, or your office has completely shut down due to the coronavirus, there are steps your attorney can take to help keep your case active. There are measures we can implement to give you a break from making payments into your case for a limited period of time. Your case will have to meet certain criteria to be approved for this suspension of payments. Do not stop making payments to the Trustee unless you have spoken with our office and are approved to do so. Call our office to
discuss what options are available for your situation. We have set up mechanisms to manage your cases without the need for an in-person appointment.
